This article examines the social and personal significance of volunteerism, as well as its motivation among adolescents. Existing research on similar topics is reviewed to correlate findings and reflect on the results, as well as the historical experience of volunteer and charitable practices. The research methodology utilized interviews with volunteers from among the members of the Council of the First of the Smolensk Region.
The authors of this article examined the issue of students’ motivation and engagement in the educational process within the secondary vocational education system. They conducted a survey of the faculty and students of the Regional State Budgetary Professional Educational Institution «Ryazan Construction College named after V.A. Beglov». Based on the analysis of professional experience, an in-depth study of the problem, and a survey, the authors of this article developed general recommendations for increasing the motivation and engagement of secondary vocational education students in the Humanities classes.
The article considers the problems and challenges a foreign language teacher faces due to specific characteristics of teaching a foreign language and foreign culture: balance between communicative and non-communicative tasks, focus on accuracy or fluency, drill exercises or gamification, creating the authentic language surroundings or using the mother tongue. The motives inspiring the teacher in choosing techniques and approaches to teaching and a good reason behind the accepted solution depending on the goals of teaching are discussed.
