The article examines the issue of fostering love for a small homeland among younger schoolchildren in the process of familiarization with cultural institutions in the city of Kirov. For this purpose, the features of fostering love for a small homeland in children of primary school age were characterized and the possibilities of cultural institutions of the city of Kirov as a means of fostering love for a small homeland in children of primary school age were identified.
