Russian legal science is actively providing the idea of modernizing criminal proceedings through the transition to electronic criminal proceedings, which will be a logical step forward in the era of information technology development. The article is devoted to the analysis of the problems and risks that the Russian judicial system may face during the full transition to electronic criminal case. The author concludes that solving these problems and analyzing the risks are essential conditions for achieving the goal of transforming criminal proceedings.
