The article substantiates the relevance of manual labor in the context of the digitalization of education. It examines the psychological and physiological characteristics of 7th-grade students that determine the effectiveness of wood carving. The results of testing lessons in geometric carving are presented. It is proven that the developed methodology corresponds to the age characteristics of 7th-grade students, arouses interest, and contributes to the development of students' creative abilities.
