Keyword: «ground surface deformation»
Open-pit mining is one of the most environmentally unfavorable methods of mineral extraction, accompanied by significant anthropogenic impact and a high risk of ground surface deformations. Under conditions of climate warming and permafrost distribution in the Arctic, such processes are particularly relevant. This study analyzes ground displacement and moisture dynamics at the Irelyakh dredging site using Sentinel-1 and Landsat satellite data. The developed approach makes it possible to assess the condition of dams, monitor their stability, and predict potential failures using satellite information and geographic information technologies.
