This study investigated the electrical resistance and its temperature dependence of conductive polymer composite materials based on low-density polyethylene filled with conductive carbon black. Low- and highly dispersed fractions of carbon black were used in the fabrication of the composites. The ratio of maximum resistance to room-temperature resistance and the temperature of the transition from a positive to a negative temperature coefficient of resistance were determined for the studied composites. It was found that the use of low-dispersed carbon black in the fabrication of composites provides a significant increase in maximum resistance near the melting point of the matrix at the temperature of the transition from a positive to a negative temperature coefficient of resistance.
