The article is devoted to the features of strategic management of the development of the crop production industry in modern conditions. The key factors are analyzed: dependence on natural and climatic conditions, the duration of the production cycle, the science-intensive nature, the role of state support, and global competition. The necessity of adaptive, innovative, and multi-level approaches to strategic planning is substantiated to ensure the sustainability of the crop production industry.
The article examines the role of state regulation in the development and implementation of marketing strategies for enterprises in the agro-industrial complex. It analyzes the goals, directions, and instruments of government influence on the marketing activities of agricultural entities. Special attention is paid to the impact of regulatory measures on the main elements of the marketing mix – product, pricing, distribution policy, and the promotion system.
