The article examines the issues of developing the creative imagination of third-graders in the process of decorative and applied arts classes in fine art lessons. The pedagogical conditions of the development of this process are being studied. It offers the organization of exhibitions and excursions on decorative and applied arts, as well as the development of a program for art lessons in the section "Decorative and Applied Arts" in elementary schools, aimed at developing the creative imagination of third graders. The article concludes that decorative and applied art is an effective tool for developing the creative imagination of third grade students.
