The article focuses on the research of "storytelling" technique as a powerful tool in teaching foreign languages. The research is aimed at studying theoretical and practical aspects of this technique. The main elements of "storytelling", two key types of use of this technique in teaching are described. Examples of practical use of storytelling are given, which contribute to the effective introduction of vocabulary and grammatical constructions at the lesson, to the improvement of pronunciation skills and to the study of intonation patterns. The article shows that the use of the "storytelling" technique in teaching foreign languages contributes not only to the development of language skills, but also to the increase of motivation and creativity of students.
