The article presents the ecological problems of urbanized territories, the main sources of urban pollution are considered. The author notes the methods of maintaining ecological balance for each of them and enumerates the main measures for restoring ecological balance on the example of Belgorod region.

The growth of residential areas in Tobolsk causes an increase in the share of urban territory located in the acoustic discomfort zone. The main source of noise impact in Tobolsk is the noise of traffic flows. This paper examines the influence of urban planning principles on the level of noise load in residential areas. An assessment of the noise load in the residential area of Tobolsk was made. The optimal type of development for areas with high traffic intensity was determined.
